Thoughts on our band name
From time to time we are asked about the meaning of our band name. The reaction of most people is the same as mine when I hear someone speak French …’Sounds great, but I don't get it’. Quickly guesses are made: Does our name refer to the fact that in a time in which mainly artificial plastic pop is playing on the radio, we are returning to our acoustic instruments and thus reviving a somehow romanticized yesterday? Sounds interesting, but no. Besides, we believe that in hardly any other time there were so many talented and brilliant artists and bands out there as there are today.
Or is our band name some kind of cynical social analysis that alludes to the sadly observable upswing of vicious right-wing populist policies from the day before yesterday? Hell, no. Though we are political people, our music is not. Rather, the name derives from the feeling that haunts you at the first moment in the morning after a wild and drunken night. When your physical condition forces you to waste the first thought in the morning on yesterday. Good Morning Yesterday. At first sight, this may not seem very artistic.
But it is just this slight hangover depression, the inner emptiness of such days that forces creation. That makes you pause for a while and can sometimes provide the breeding ground for something new and different. Later this year we’ll release our first LP containing some songs that were written on such mornings. And maybe one day you will put on our record in a mood like this, feeling tired and blue. Then, I guess, somehow the circle closes.
Bye, Julian

Thoughts on our Work
We are working as hard as we possibly can.Sometimes hearing someone say something like this sounds a little trite but we really do. It´s the first time we´re producing a full LP all on our own. The difficulties, which we never thought would make something difficult, now occur. It´s all about the where, when and how. Where is the perfect place to record drums, which room might fit the best for a string quintet and how should the bass be recorded ?
Is a song good or maybe not that good? After you listened to it and played it at least over 100 times. We might be our hardest critics and sometimes it´s hard to stay in a flow with your creativity, ideas and your ideals of how to create music. BUT it´s maybe the most exciting thing we have done in our life so far and we now are starting to realize that once we pressed this tiny piece of our souls onto vinyl it will concrete for all our listeners.
It´s like showing our biggest fears, hopes and love from all our insides. And maybe some will recognize similar thoughts and ideas in one of our songs. And maybe it will empower and help people with whatever they´re dealing with. That´s what it´s all about for me. This is what makes art vivid. This is what makes me want to finish this LP. I can´t wait to hold the vinyl in my hands. I can almost smell it ;)
Stay tuned, Jonas

Interview - Fauves Magazine
Hi Fauves, danke gut soweit.
Ganz gut.
